The Genesis

The 'Manini' initiative is conceptualised as a targeted, action-driven platform to enable aspiring women to become successful entrepreneurs through structured hand-holding and training throughout their entrepreneurial journey. The program’s name, 'Manini'—evocative of dignity, empowerment, and self-worth—encapsulates the ethos of the movement: to transform women from opportunity seekers to opportunity creators within their communities.

Core Objectives

  • Economic Empowerment: To equip women with the skills, resources, and confidence to launch and sustain their own micro or small enterprises, thereby enhancing their economic independence.

  • Comprehensive Capacity Building: To provide structured, market-relevant training modules, business acumen, and technical skills that respond to current industry needs and entrepreneurial challenges.

  • Personalized Hand-Holding: To deliver ongoing, tailored mentorship and operational support, ensuring that each 'Manini' progresses confidently across all stages of business development.

  • Holistic Development: To nurture leadership, decision-making, and resilience in women, fostering their long-term growth as business leaders and community change agents.

  • Scalable Social Impact: To expand the program’s reach across Pune and Maharashtra, building a cadre of women entrepreneurs who, in turn, inspire further participation at the grassroots level.

Key Components

  1. Participant Recruitment and Selection:

    • Open to women above 18 years, with a focus on inclusivity—no prior business experience required.

    • Preference is given to women from marginalised or economically disadvantaged backgrounds, promoting social equity.

    • Selection involves assessment of entrepreneurial intent, community referrals, and, where needed, orientation sessions to demystify entrepreneurship.

  2. Training and Entrepreneurship Development Modules:

    • Based on a modular curriculum that is regularly updated to match market trends and regulatory requirements.

    • Delivered through a blend of classroom learning, case studies, practical simulations, and peer-to-peer learning groups.

    • Modules incorporate the latest best practices from renowned women-centric entrepreneurship programs.

  3. Mentorship and Business Incubation:

    • Every 'Manini' is paired with a dedicated mentor (often a practising entrepreneur or industry professional), providing tailored guidance on ideation, business planning, and risk management.

    • Access to Adroit’s resource hub—legal advisory, market linkage facilitation, and digital marketing support.

  4. Hand-Holding and Ongoing Support:

    • Includes help with business registration, compliance, funding, and navigating government schemes such as PMEGP and Mudra Loans.

    • Post-training follow-up includes quarterly performance reviews, business troubleshooting, and access to an alumni network for peer support.

  5. Impact Measurement and Community Engagement:

  • The program continuously tracks key impact metrics, including enterprise survival rates, income growth, job creation, and social mobility.

  • Graduated 'Manini' are encouraged to mentor new entrants, ensuring a virtuous cycle of empowerment.
